Noosa on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, is a popular holiday destination in Australia, with its sub-tropical weather, busy and sparkling beaches, and endless shopping and restaurants.
Noosa Heads, and the suburb of Noosaville have seriously grown over the decades. The large beach town is only two hours north of Brisbane, and the stunning beaches, picturesque river and deluxe lifestyle draw visitors year-round.
After revisiting Noosa in April 2025, here’s my list of the best things to do in Noosa, Queensland.
Noosa Beaches
Noosa Main Beach
The main beach is great for families and sits at the top of Hastings Street. It does get choc-o-block busy here, but it’s worth visiting for an easy swim close to shopping and restaurants. There’s hardly any shade at Main Beach so BYO umbrella or beach shelter.
Sunshine Beach
Beautiful Sunshine Beach has a cliff-side coastal walk at the beginning of a long stretch of luxurious beach. Situated a few kms from Hastings Street this area has its own cafes and selection of boutiques.
Peregian Beach
At the other end of the coastal road is Peregian Beach, a beach near national park walks, and Lake Weyba. This beach is further south towards Coolum Beach. There are no tall buildings here, just a stunning, secluded beach for relaxing.
Tea Tree Bay
Located within the Noosa National Park, this is a gorgeous bay with shady areas beneath the pandanus palm trees, with lots of walks in the area. Tea Tree Bay is only recommended for experienced surfers, due to the rocky conditions.
Alexandria Bay
Another beach in the Noosa National Park is Alexandria Bay. There is a hike to this beach and you need to take enough of your own food and water supplies. The trek is worth it though, to experience this beautiful, isolated, and less crowded beach.
Noosa Restaurants
There are a multitude of restaurants to choose from. Whether you are a seafood lover, favour fine dining, or prefer casual meals by the beach, there’s something for everyone in Noosa.
Noosa Beach House
Noosa Beach House is known for its local and seasonal dishes, in the midst of Noosa. Located on Hastings Street, the laidback and coastal atmosphere makes this restaurant popular.
Noosa Waterfront
The Noosa Waterfront is a beautiful Italian restaurant located on the river, is popular for its casual, luxury dining, and is the perfect spot for weddings and events.
Season
Situated on the beachfront, Season has spectacular views for lunch and dinner diners. Fresh food in a casual or romantic setting makes this restaurant one to add to your list.
Sails
Sails is another restaurant with incredible beach views. With event spaces and an impeccable wine list, this is a restaurant not to be missed.
Noosa Surf Club
This bustling casual restaurant and surf club is situated at the entrance Noosa Heads Beach. This lunch, dinner, or drink spot is perfect for families on the go. Menu items include fish’n’chips, burgers, seafood platters, pasta, and the usual kids’ menu selection.
Noosa Ice Cream
It’s no surprise that ice cream is popular in this part of the world. Here are some of the best ice cream shops to keep you energized between beach time and shopping.
Harry Pops Noosa
Nothing artificial here and you can build your own ice cream with toppings at this award-winning ice creamery.
Noosa Gelato House
A local and fresh gelato shop at the Noosa Marina.

Noosa Shopping
There are plenty of shopping options in Noosa. Chain stores, boutiques. and local artists- it’s all here. Highlights include local boutiques on Hastings Street, and small shopping centres with variety at Noosa Village and Noosa Fair.
Noosa Accommodation
There are countless options for short or long stays at Noosa Heads or in the Nossaville area.
Known for the luxury lifestyle, the prices the higher than usual but there are always affordable options to consider, including hotels, resorts, Airbnb and campgrounds.
Tingirana Noosa
Tingirana offers luxury apartments, a pool beside the beach, and laidback, 5 star service. The modern rooms with private balconies are a stones throw from Noosa Main Beach.
Mantra French Quarter Noosa
Another beachside resort on Hastings Street, the Mantra offers competitive prices for a luxury stay. 1-3 bedroom private apartments with balcony or terrace or by the pool. Quieter than some of the other resorts, yet close to all shops and dining on Hastings Street.
The Sebel Noosa
The Sebel is ideal for an important event or a luxurious independent stay. A quiet option near the river and Hastings Street. Take a short walk to all you need on Hastings Street or relax by the spa and pools.
Peppers Noosa Resort And Villas
Another luxury resort option for events or a holiday stay. Peppers is close to restaurants and shops, Peppers also has an on site restaurant. For a quiet stay, consider one of the treetop villas.
Everglades Eco Camp
This beautiful campground 25 minutes from the middle of Noosa offers all sorts of camping options. From glamping to basic camping, staying at Everglades is a great option to save some money, without losing on experience.
Noosa National Park
Noosa National Park is worth a visit if you love beach views and lush rainforest. This is a fully equipped national park with coffee, toilets, and BBQ areas. A complete walking circle of the park takes 4 hours, or choose your desired section to hike, like Dolphin Point, Hells Gates, or the famous Noosa Fairy Pools. The water shimmers in these clear pools at low tide.
Noosa Ferry
An easy alternative to get to Noosa Heads and Hastings Street, without getting stuck in the bottle-neck traffic, is to catch the Noosa Ferry. There are a few options but all information and bookings can be made here.
Taking the ferry is a great way to see some paddleboarding, stunning views, and the luxury residences residing on the river.
Noosa Map
Noosa is a beautiful and interesting place to visit. There’s plenty to do, with exceptional beaches, surf, and top-rated restaurants to choose from.
If you are visiting the area for a few days or more, a short 30 minute trip to Eumundi Markets is recommended to soak up the local produce and atmosphere.
Noosa is popular for a reason, and if planned properly to avoid traffic or crowds, it’s a top destination to visit on Australia’s Sunshine Coast.
